Mississauga is bounded by Oakville and Milton to the west/southwest, Brampton to the north, Toronto to the east, and Lake Ontario to the south/southeast. Halton Hills borders Mississauga’s north-west corner. Mississauga shares a land border with all previously mentioned municipalities.
Mississauga has a vibrant arts community, promoted by the Mississauga Arts Council, which holds an annual awards ceremony called the MARTYs.
Celebration Square is home to Mississauga’s largest festivals such as Canada Day, Mississauga Rotary Ribfest, and Tree Lighting Ceremony. The Mississauga Library System is a municipally owned network of 18 libraries.
Mississauga is a host to the Raptors 905 of the NBA G League, and the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League.
